二、课程的基本任务和基本要求
本课程在英语方向专业的人才培养方案中,属于专业必修课程,十分重要。
本课程的任务在于指导学生在深入学习课文的基础上,从词,句,语篇等角度进行听,说,读,写,译多方面的语言操练,帮助学生打下扎实的语言基础,掌握良好的语言学习方法,提高文化素养,全面培养学生的英语语言能力和综合运用能力,尤其是听说能力,使他们在今后的工作和社会交往中能用英语有效地进行口头和书面的信息交流。
三、本课程与其它课程的联系
本课程有别于理论知识和单项技能课,但又与其他课程有必要的重复,与单项技能课相辅相成,为之后将要学习的各门课程打下坚实基础。本课程在专业培养课程中安排在第一至第五学期。
四、课程教学目标
(一)、理论知识目标
以教材为基础,通过大量练习提升学生的词汇和语法知识,借助构词法,扩大他们的基本词汇量,加上各类派生词,为大量阅读开辟道路。通过练习,使学生掌握基础阶段重点词,结构词,常用的动词短语,动词用法模式,常用的同义词反义词等等。加强学生的阅读理解能力,使学生能够认真领会,深入钻研,积极思维并学习进行有水平的分析评论,大大增强学生的分析欣赏能力。
(二)、实践技能目标
整顿提高学生的语音语调和朗读技巧,口语练习从问答应对及简单复述过渡到较长的叙述描写,以及初步的分析和辩论的能力的培养上。全面提高学生独立工作能力,养成使用工具书(特别是英英词典)的能力。
五、教学方法和手段
在教学上加大听说教学的力度,但又保持传统教学的特色,基本上采取课前预习——课堂讲授(包括大量的师生交流:pair work, group discussion,debatesetc.)——课后练习的流程形式,要求学生课余时间进行大量的口, 笔, 听,写,译的练习,作业由教师批阅和抽查,并在课堂上讲评;通过课堂内外,自学面授等一系列互动互补的教学环节,培养学生具有较扎实的英语语言基础和较强的英语综合运用能力。
在教学过程中,提倡学生自主学习,即学生应成为学习的主体,主动地,创造性地学习,同时又要发挥教师的主导和指导作用,指导学生掌握正确的学习方法和学习策略。在各个教学环节中,充分利用教材的思想性和正面引导性,对学生进行思想道德教育,在汲取他人文化精神的同时,不忘自己的灿烂文明,弘扬民族美德。教学过程中,教师还要根据学生的实际水平,因材施教,区别对待,分类教学。本课程有别与理论知识和单项技能课,但又与其他课程有必要的重复,与单项技能课相辅相成。本课程的特点在于所使用的语言材料是传统的,精选的,技能的训练是综合的。
六、考核方式
本课程为考试课,考核方式为闭卷考试,课程成绩评分方法:平时成绩占百分之六,作业占百分之九,期中考试占百分之二十五,期末考试占百分之六十。
